Privacy Policy
Plain English. No legalese. We respect your data.
Short version: Favory stores the grocery ratings you create. We don't sell your data, we don't show you ads, and you can delete everything at any time.
What we collect
When you use Favory, we collect only what's necessary to make the app work:
- Account information — your email address and name when you sign up
- Product ratings — the grocery products you scan and rate, including barcodes, product names, stores, and ratings per family member
- Family member names — first names you add for family members (no email or personal data required)
- Shopping lists — items you add to your shopping lists
- Usage data — basic app usage analytics (screens visited, features used) to help us improve the app
We do not collect your location, payment information, or any data outside the app.
How we use it
Your data is used for one purpose: making Favory work for you.
- Showing you your family's product ratings when you scan a barcode
- Syncing your data across devices and with family members you've invited
- Sending you product notifications if you've opted in
- Improving the app based on anonymized usage patterns
We never use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
Data storage
Favory is built on Bubble, a no-code platform. Your data is stored on Bubble's infrastructure, hosted on AWS (Amazon Web Services) servers in the United States.
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. We retain your data for as long as you have an active account. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to anyone.
We share limited data only with the services required to operate Favory:
- Bubble — our app platform and database
- Analytics — anonymized, aggregated usage data only (no personally identifiable information)
If we ever need to share data beyond this, we will notify you and ask for your consent first.
Children's privacy
Favory is designed for parents and families. The app allows you to add family member profiles (including children) by first name only — no email, account, or personal data is required for family members.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The account holder (parent or guardian) is responsible for the family data within the app.
Your rights
You have full control over your data:
- Access — you can view all your data directly in the app at any time
- Edit — you can edit or delete any product rating, family member, or shopping list
- Export — contact us to request a full export of your data
- Delete — you can delete your account and all associated data from the app settings
If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Cookies
The Favory app uses session cookies necessary for authentication (keeping you logged in). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
This website (favory.app) may use basic analytics cookies to understand visitor traffic. No personal data is collected through these cookies.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
Continued use of Favory after changes means you accept the updated policy.
