What exactly is Favory?

Favory is a grocery rating app for families. You scan a product's barcode, rate it (Not Tasty / OK / Tasty), and Favory remembers it. Next time you're at the store, scan the same product and instantly see what every family member thought of it last time.

Is Favory free?

Yes — Favory is free to use. You can scan products, rate them, manage family members, and use shopping lists at no cost.

Do I need to install an app?

Favory runs in your mobile browser — no App Store download required. Open app.favory.app on your phone and you're ready to go. You can also add it to your home screen for a native app-like experience.

How do I add family members?

Go to Settings → Family Members and tap the + button. You only need to enter a first name — no email or account required for family members. You can add as many as you need (kids, partner, grandparents).

Each member gets their own color-coded avatar and can rate products independently.

Using the app
How does barcode scanning work?

Tap the camera button and point it at any product barcode. Favory checks if you've rated that product before and shows you the result instantly — usually within 3 seconds.

If it's a new product, you can add it to your history and rate it. Works with barcodes on virtually any packaged grocery product.

What do STOP, CAN BUY, and MAYBE mean?

These are the automatic verdicts Favory generates based on your family's combined ratings:

  • STOP — at least one family member rated it "Not tasty"
  • CAN BUY — everyone who rated it gave it OK or Tasty
  • MAYBE — mixed reviews, mostly positive

You can always tap through to see the individual ratings behind the verdict.

Can I edit or delete a rating?

Yes. Open any product from your Rating History, tap the edit icon next to the ratings section, and change or remove any family member's rating. You can also delete the entire product from your history.

How do shopping lists work?

Create a shopping list and add items to it — either manually or from your rating history using Quick Add. At the store, check off items as you go. You can have multiple lists (e.g. "Weekly shop", "Costco run").

Family sharing
What's the difference between family members and Family Sharing?
+

Family members are profiles you create inside your own account — just a name and a color. You rate products on behalf of each member yourself. This is ideal for kids or anyone who doesn't need their own account.

Family Sharing connects two real accounts (e.g. you and your partner). You each have your own login, but share the same product history and shopping lists. Perfect for couples who shop separately.

How do I invite my partner?

Go to Settings → Family Sharing → Invite Member. Enter your partner's email and send the invite. They'll get an email to join — if they don't have an account yet, they'll be prompted to create one. Once connected, your product histories merge automatically.

Account & data
Is my data private?
+

Yes. Your grocery ratings are private to your account (and your Family Sharing partner, if you have one). We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't share your information with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Edit Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data (ratings, family members, shopping lists) within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.

Can I use Favory on multiple devices?

Yes. Log in to your account on any device and all your data syncs automatically — ratings, family members, and shopping lists are always up to date.
